Create a web site that will easily allow users to post classified ads, view or search existing ads, and reply to posted ads.
Project Solution
Ease of use was a primary concern for listedlocal.com to be successful. We worked with the client to identify the key features required for a visitor to post a classified ad. We then researched existing classified ad sites to determine which features and functions worked best.
The solution was a customized application that would most easily allow visitors to post classified ads with a minimum of effort. Visitors can find a classified ad within just a few clicks of the home page.
Since the classified ads are free, listedlocal.com consulted Bitwise Logic to determine the most effective method of making the website profitable. We recommended a combination of paid advertising coupled with affiliate advertising.
Local companies in the communities served by listedlocal.com can pay a small fee to have their ads displayed on the pages that pertain to their local communities. This is effective advertising since the advertiser is directly reaching their local market.
As an additional source of revenue affiliate ads are placed throughout the site. Bitwise Logic custom developed a sophisticated ad rotating solution that allows relevant affiliate ads to be displayed based on the category the user is currently visiting. This maximizes the effectiveness of the advertising since the user will only see ads that are relevant to the topic they are viewing.
Finally, to make the site successful, traffic is required. We developed a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy that would maximize the visibilty of the web site to search engines. We also worked with the client to register the web site with search engines and directories, and to find web sites to link to listedlocal.com to generate more traffic.
